DJ Pizo

djpizo3 CRUNK!!! DJ DJ PizoWhen you talk about Bay Area music you have to mention DJ Pizo, he is as legendary as the groups he has DJ’d and produced.

Tony, Toni, Ton’e / Too Short / Spice 1, and now E-40. From the conception of the Bay Area sound, DJ Pizo has had his hand in on the whole situation, with songs such as “Feels Good” (Tony, Toni, Ton’e), “Short But Funky” (Too Short), “187 Proof” (Spice 1) just to name a few. As E-40’s DJ, Pizo has been turning out shows with him for the past 8 years.

DJ Pizo, AKA “The Beat Fixer,” was raised in the Bay Area town of Hayward, California. Que Martyn, his grandfather and successful jazz musician, has influenced Pizo’s mixes and attributed to his diverse musical sound and abilities. Other influences include DJ Cut Creator, DJ Howie T and DJ Scratch. DJ Pizo has the uncanny ability to locate sounds others overlook on records. This legendary DJ is a quadruple threat.

Beyond his talent as a DJ, Pizo also writes, produces and raps as displayed in his albums Rollin a Drop, released in 1996 and Built For This, released in 2003. Current projects include Spice 1’s new album Home Street Home and his mix compilation Yard Full of Pits. Keep your eyes and ears open for some surprises – Pizo is far from done.
